TRSD has seen a recent increase in incidents involving student vaping, with varying information and misunderstandings complicating the matter. The purpose of this section is to inform you of the issues surrounding vaping, give you resources if you feel your child is involved in this kind of behavior, and alert you to possible consequences (and alternatives), if your child engages in vaping or is in possession of vape products on school property. We take this issue very seriously due to the negative health and behavioral effects vaping can have on our students and often find that our parents/guardians are not aware of the risks around vaping. We understand that these are tough and sensitive issues. We are here to help!

As a reminder, all Three Rivers School District campuses are tobacco/smoke free, as required by Oregon law. This means students, staff, and visitors may not use tobacco/e-cigarettes/vape of any kind (including chew or tobacco) at school. This includes after-school hours and inside personal vehicles that are on school property. Students may not have or use lighters, matches, e-cigs, vape devices, vape juice, “roll your own” products or other tobacco-related products on campus or at school sponsored events, at any time. Consequences may be found in your school’s handbook.
